Gangaikondacholapuram Temple is located in Ariyalur District close Thanjavur city of Tamil Nadu and known for its structural and building wonder. The Presiding Deity is known as Brihadeeswara. His Consort here is known as Periyanayaki. Gangaikonda Cholapuram was founded by King Rajendra Chola. He made this as the Chola Capital and it went on to serve as a Capital for the next 250 years. The Shivalingam here is one of the Biggest in South India. This Temple of Lord Siva at Gangaikondacholapuram additionally has one of the biggest statue of Nandi in whole Southern India. This Nandhi is placed and sculpted in such a way that it reflects the sunlight on it to the Sanctum.
